Cridget — Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Cridget brings you live cricket scores and can show ball-by-ball updates on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, and in Home Screen widgets. To deliver those live updates, we — us.nz — operate a small service that stores the matches your device follows and a push token so we can send updates to it. We are transparent about what we collect and why. Cridget has no user accounts, and we do not show ads, use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, or sell your data to anyone. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
To deliver live updates for the matches you follow, we collect and store the following on our servers:
We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email to use the app, and we do not build a profile of you.
We use the data above only to provide and improve Cridget:
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it. There is no advertising or third-party tracking in Cridget.
The matches you follow and your device’s push token are stored on the us.nz Cridget Service, used solely to route live updates to your device. Data is transmitted between your device and our service over encrypted connections. On your device, your push token and device identity are held securely by the operating system in the Apple Keychain.
Your favourite teams and app preferences (such as theme and display options) are stored locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us and is used solely to personalise your experience on your own device.
To show you live scores, fixtures, results, and match detail, Cridget fetches cricket data from a third-party sports data provider over the internet. These requests carry only the standard technical information needed to deliver a response (for example, your device’s IP address, which is handled by the provider and network infrastructure as part of any internet request).
We do not attach your identity to these requests, and we do not receive or store the contents of what you look at. An internet connection is required for live scores and match data to load.
When you follow a live match, Cridget can display ball-by-ball updates on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, and in Home Screen widgets. To keep these updates fresh, our service sends them to your device through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) using the push token described above.
The push token is issued and managed by Apple, is not linked to your name or any personal identity, and is used only to deliver score updates for matches you have chosen to follow. It is not used for advertising or tracking, and is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can stop these updates at any time by ending a Live Activity, unfollowing a match, or turning off notifications for Cridget in your device settings.
Cridget does not use advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs of any kind. We rely on the cricket data provider and on Apple’s Push Notification service (described above), and on the infrastructure that hosts the us.nz Cridget Service, used solely to deliver the scores and updates you request. We do not share your information with third parties for their own purposes, and we never sell your data.
We keep the matches you follow and your push token only for as long as needed to deliver updates to your device. When you unfollow a match or end its Live Activity, we stop sending updates for it; when you turn off notifications for Cridget or remove the app, your device stops receiving updates. If you would like us to delete the data associated with your device, contact us at apps@us.nz and we will remove it.
Cridget is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above. We will continue to be transparent about what we collect and how it is used.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or wish to access or delete your data, please contact us at:
